Position: DevOps Engineer (PowerShell Specialist with SQL Server)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop new automation processes for 500+ production database servers to streamline troubleshooting and upgrades.
  • Automate installation and configuration tasks using PowerShell for large-scale database server deployments.
  • Enhance and manage existing automation frameworks to optimize efficiency and reduce manual efforts.
  • Take ownership of and improve the DBA portal to support health checks, onboarding, monitoring, upgrades, and migration-related tasks.
  • Provide production support for SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Kubernetes environments.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for production support during non-standard hours (3 PM IST to 12:30 AM IST) and weekends.
  • Plan and execute schedules for database upgrades, migrations, and onboarding processes.
  • Proactively monitor database performance using advanced monitoring and alerting tools.
  • Investigate and resolve database outages, providing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) as needed.
  • Mentor team members on best practices in automation scripting (PowerShell, Jenkins).

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting is essential.
  • Experience with SQL Server, JavaScript, Jenkins, and .NET for automation deployments preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing complex automation processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering business solutions.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience supporting client-facing production database servers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Excellent communication skills, including technical documentation experience.
  • Proactive in updating skills through continuous learning and professional development activities.
