About the team
Stripe Admin is a special platform we made for our employees. They use it for everything at work, from talking to users to making new things happen. Admin helps us work fast and serve our users better. The Admin Platform team takes care of all the technology behind Stripe Admin. We support hundreds of engineers who use it every day, making sure it’s safe and works well. Our job is to make everyone’s job easier and keep things safe, which sometimes means fixing things all over the technology.
What you’ll do
- Work with a team of smart engineers who care about making things easy for developers.
- Take care of problems from start to finish, thinking about everything from how to measure success to making sure the technology is easy to use.
- Fix problems that happen in the technology while it’s being used.
- Make sure our technology meets high standards and help newer team members do the same.
- Teach and help other engineers at Stripe get better at what they do.
Who you are
We want someone who meets the basic requirements for the job. If you do, please apply. Extra qualifications are good, but not needed.
Minimum requirements
- Have at least 3-10 years of experience in making software, including leading projects.
- Like being good at different parts of making technology, like the front and back parts or how it all works together. (You don’t have to be an expert in everything, but being interested helps.)
- Can work well with different teams and make sure everyone agrees on what to do.
- Care about making work easier for other people.
- Like learning new things and can give and take feedback from other engineers.
Preferred qualifications
- Have made software for other developers before.
- Have helped with big changes in technology before.
- Can write and talk well to different kinds of people (like leaders or users).
- Like working even when things aren’t clear and when you have a lot of freedom and responsibility.
- Know JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Ruby, or Java well.
In-office expectations
Most Stripes work in our offices at least 50% of the time each month. Some teams might have different expectations, like working more in the office. This helps us work together and learn from each other while still being flexible.
