North South Foundation Scholarship

North South Foundation Scholarship

North South Foundation helps students pay for college if they’re studying engineering, medicine, or a 3-year engineering diploma and they’re good students with financial problems. They’ve given over 20,000 scholarships to help students keep learning. If you get a scholarship, it’s not just for one year – you can get it every year until you finish college, as long as you keep doing well in your classes.

They get the money for these scholarships from people in the United States who donate. In India, different groups pick students who really need the help, and then those students get the scholarships.

They used to have 10 groups helping in places like Bangalore, Chennai, and Pune, but now they’ve added 6 more in places like Chandigarh and Patna. If you want, you can help start a new group anywhere in India.

The North South Foundation Scholarship for 2023-24 gives up to INR 30,000 per year to students who finished Class 12 and are going into engineering, medicine, or a 3-year engineering diploma, based on how well they’ve done in school and how much help they need.

The North South Foundation is all about supporting students studying engineering, medicine, or a 3-year engineering diploma who need financial help and are good students. They have the same rules for picking students from different groups.

The scholarship comes from Illinois, USA. It’s for students starting engineering, medical, or engineering diploma courses. They choose students based on how good they are in school and how much help they need. If you qualify, you need to apply before February 15th, 2023.

They’ll help you pay for college until you finish your studies, as long as you keep doing well in your classes. You can apply and check the status of your application on their website.

North South Foundation Scholarship : Selection Process

NSF Scholarship Selection Process:

  •  Each chapter in India has a volunteer called the ICC (India Chapter Coordinator). The ICC manages forming the selection committee, reviewing applications, interviewing applicants, and giving out the NSF scholarship rewards.
  •  Candidates are chosen mostly based on how well they’ve done in school.
  • Here’s how it works:
    1. The ICC checks the NSF scholarship applications for their chapter.
    2. Shortlisted candidates have to go for an interview.
Note: One parent needs to come along with the candidate. NSF will pay for their bus or train tickets.
    3. Based on the interviews, the selection committee recommends candidates to the NSF India coordinator in Hyderabad.
    4. The final list of candidates is decided after approval from the NSF India coordinator and the US scholarship team.
    5. The chosen students get their NSF scholarship money in an award ceremony organized by the North-South Foundation (NSF).
Note: The NSF scholarship isn’t a one-time payment. The foundation pays students every year until they finish their studies.
